You May Have Noticed…

The site was down for a few weeks.  This was very unfortunate for me and it bothered me every single day.  The true problem was that my bosses just weren’t paying me and all available income had to go to much larger and more important bills.  All I can say about this is that I am truly sorry that it happened again and that I will do everything in my power to prevent that from happening.

Anyway, since I’m back now, the major update has been I am fully recovered from the surgery.  No more pains and aches and all that.  I’m officially back to normal.  I also started going back to the gym.

Anyway, Houston is writing the next scripts for the comic and we will resume posting Monday.  I gotta bring back any readers that could have been lost during this “blackout”

Medical Update…

So I made it back from the hospital alive.  My first day back I stop in at my work to chat with everyone and see if I can help with anything, but I was found with a barrage of insults and told to go home and rest lol.  I didn’t make it home till Friday night at 9pm and I totally crashed.  Yesterday I woke up, rested for a bit, then went to my aunt’s to relax on her beach.  Went back to my cousin’s for relaxing time, and after another night of randomness, I am back here.  Basically I will post the comic Tuesday, and seeing as how I have a whole week off, I’ll post 2 this week since I couldn’t last week.

Yay Morphine!…

Comic isn’t up, for VERY good reason.  Tuesday morning I started having stomach pains, but in all honesty, I just thought I was constipated lol.  I started the comic, then went to the gym to take a break, but the pain became much worse.  I came home and slept till about 8, watched Glee, then discussed with the parents about going to the hospital.  Good thing I did, cause apparently, I had appendicitis.  I stayed over night and at about 10:30am is when I went in for surgery.  Now I’m in my bed at the hospital, prayin for food to get here, and watchin TV with the parents.  I’ll post a pic or 2 in a bit.

EDIT**

Here is some picture proof :P

Totally rockin the Green robe. Also wearin boxers so I'm not freeballin this lol

Aside from my laptop, my DS and Moleskine have been the keeper of my sanity since the parents left

Welcome, One and All!…

So those of you visiting because of our encounter at ACEN, I must say WELCOME!  The site itself is still in development, but I have all of the main things here for your viewing pleasure.  Just so you know, now that summer has arrived and I went through my classes, we will be updating on Tuesdays.

ACEN was REALLY fun this year.  Houston was there for Friday, but wasn’t able to make it for the rest of the con.  I met a lot of really interesting people and made some new friends there, as well as getting to talk with Hawk and Fred.  I unfortunately have to finish getting ready for work, so I’ll edit this post tonight along with some features on the site.  Hope everyone enjoys :D

*EDIT*

To continue on with my rants of ACEN:

Day One -

I wake up fairly early to take a shower, don’t wanna go to an anime convention and have otaku funk, ya know?  Houston calls me and we have a small discussion how he will get to the area, then we figure out that the Blue Line drops off near the hotel and next to the convention center.  I drive out to pick him and his little brother up, head back to the hotel, then have my dad drive us to the center (because parking is just ridiculous there).  We quickly set up the new banners on the stand and clean up the table (Jason and I went Thursday night to set up, so there wasn’t much to do).  Once the convention started, Houston, his brother, Isaiah(sp?), and I sit at the table to greet the first round of  con-goers.  After a bit, Houston and his brother went off to enjoy the con and shop a bit while I stayed back to tend to the table.  I started talking with the person next to me, and bought these awesome little plushies of a rice ball and a paupu fruit (from kingdom hearts, and I have NO idea how to spell it).  In essence, the first day was a little slow at the convention because there weren’t many of us that knew each other.  Afterwards, Houston, Isaiah, Colton, Mark, Matt, Kinsley, Allison, Kelsey, and I went to Giardono’s for some deep dish pizza.  Oh how happy I was to eat this again.  We then went to the hotel to swim then sleep.  It was a fairly successful day.

Day Two -

Woke up early so I can head to the convention.  Houston was going to be there because he promised to show his brother around, so I was going to be at the booth alone all day.  I get there, set up the table again, then I begin to walk around the artist alley to talk with people.  I chat with the people of Rubber Punk Producktions and buy some buttons off of them (mostly Dr. Who buttons).  After a bit, I head back to my table and talk with those around me.  I chatted with the artist of Cello Raptor Studios (I’m sorry, I couldnt remember your name :( if you comment or email me, I’ll add it in!), and then the group behind me at Sat Yuga Studios.  The day was slow in general, so I spent most of my time chatting with those near me.  It was a lot of fun :) lol.  I ended up leaving early so I can go and eat and relax at the hotel.  Once again, ended the night swimming then in the room for the night.

Day Three -

Once again, woke up early so I can get ready, had to take Houston and Isaiah to the CTA, then off to the con I go.  I get there, set back up, talk with the people of Rubber Punk again, then go back to my table as the con-goers flood the hall.  The day flew by as I was talking with Cello Raptor, Amy from Sat Yuga (she even coerced me into getting a chibi of myself on a button from her sister lol) and then the random occurrences of friends that would show up.  I totally bought a set of baterangs that morning as well.  That day was basically a “pass out what you can before you leave,” kind of deal.  I said my good-byes when it was time to pack up, then Jason and I left with all of our table crap piled in my car.  I dropped him off, then went home to pass out from the long, but fun, weekend.

I’ll attempt to post some pictures later

Just A Little Longer…

Oh man we are almost there!!! I ordered the new banners for the booth, they should be in by Thursday, or at least I hope they will be lol. The vendor I went through basically forces you to buy $35 worth of product, but the quality is just amazing so I ended up ordering 2. So the booth will look something like this:

We will have available to everyone business cards and postcards to just grab and go, *hopefully* all of the comics printed and available to be looked at, and then 2 set of prints, one of Shana (comic #012) and one of the cast (which is the old banner and originally me sketching out the characters during the reboot from last year).

I’m really excited! This will be the first year I have a lot to give to people and the first year Houston and I will be there together.  Anyway, watch for a table that looks something like this picture if you are attending ACEN!

Oh So Excited…

ACEN is near!  The Thursday before, as long as I can swing it with work, I’m gonna leave early with Jay and we are going to set up our tables.  I’m all giddy and stuff bout it.  In other news, I’m gonna try to post something to here this week.  Finals are almost over for me, and after that, I have time specifically set aside for OTM work during the summer.  It will be sweeeeeeeet.

:)

Where Things Are Heading…

So I’ll always be the first to admit in the comic world that I procrastinate when it comes to doing the comics.  It’s not that I don’t find this important, its just the order my life goes, I have to keep this in mind:

1) School

2) Work

3) Social life (or whatever is left of it)

4) Webcomic (sad to put this as 4).

Now, this will all be better once the summer hits and, of course, after ACEN.  Every year after ACEN, I go on an advertising binge to bring in as many readers as possible.  When I see that I have readers, I feel more compelled to work (not saying that I don’t feel compelled now).  However, this last year for the comic has been slightly experimental.  I restarted it March of 2009, just before ACEN, and had no clue where it was going, so I had nothing to promise people.  I’ve spent this last year building a nice collection of comics to bring to the readers at conventions so they can understand what we are.  This last year was setting up for this next convention.  Now I am proud to say that after reading ahead with Houston’s scripts, we are going in a great direction that I think many potential readers will love.  He helped give reason to the title “One Too Many”, which I will be proud to explain this year.

Our new character being introduced will be fun to draw and *hopefully* fun to read.  I’m strongly interested in him because he isn’t my design.  He is Houston’s.  I just draw him.  Shana, Vincent, Jacob, Brian, I’ve used them for years in short stories and other comics, so I have a feel for them.  So we are getting up there in numbers for everything, feel free to comment or chat.  I’m always happy to listen :)

Posting Tuesday…

I’ve literally been working everyday, minus when I’m at school all day and sundays.  On Sundays, I usually do my homework for the following week of school.  So how to fix this with for the good of the comic and my school work?  I need to see if I can have either Mondays or Saturdays off.  This way I can get caught up on everything.  Posting the comic tomorrow no matter what though.  Peace

Oh The New Toys…

If you follow my twitter, it is no secret:  I have a new mac!  Why the sudden purchase (and lack of comic)?  Well it started long, long ago (about 2 or 3 weeks) when I opened photoshop to do the comic.  I was finished with this next comic, but I found a few things that needed to be fixed with the art, which meant I had to redraw, ink, and color those panels.  When it was near completion, photoshop crashed.  Now, I figured it was my mistake and that I should have saved.  So a few days later I try again…same thing AND it didn’t want to save when I wanted to.  This happened about 2 or 3 more times in a row.  So now fast forward to Tuesday night.  My taxes come in and I receive my paycheck, I also have a computer that is slowly starting to go downhill.  I had enough money to buy a new mac.  What did I end up with?  The Mac Mini.  A fantastic little computer that is really tiny, does it all, and makes me happy.  Upon turning it on, I was in love with it.  I’ll post pics later, along with the comic.  Jason is gonna help me get everything going with the Adobe products.

In other news, I still have no idea what I’m going to do about the convention handouts.  I may just sit down Sunday and crank something out.  Also need a new banner, but I don’t think it will be all artsy, it will probably just be the logo on a black vinyl background.  We’ll see.
